Before you start your next project, it’s important to be informed about the types of permits required to help ensure your project is completed safely and on time. There are two main categories of permits:
- Development permits address issues related to community planning, bylaws, land use, image and compatibility. They are required for new builds, changes in property use, or additions to existing structures.
- Safety codes permits ensure that the necessary legislation, regulations and policies are followed for construction and renovation projects.

Change of Use Exemptions for Permitted Uses
Land Use Bylaw Amendment 21/015 exempts some permitted uses in prescribed commercial districts from a Change of Use Development Permit.
